Exploring St. Agnes, Isles of Scilly

With scenic beaches on one side and grassy terrain on the other, St. Agnes is an island full of contrast.

Being the second smallest island you would think there isn’t much to do, and you wouldn’t be wrong for thinking that. There isn’t much to do in the traditional sense, which is why I like to refer to St. Agnes as the ‘hippy island’. Days are best spent relaxing at the beach, lapping up the waves, soaking up the sun or trekking over the rocky landscape.

The breathtaking views of Bishop Rock and the Western Rocks provide a great backdrop and last but not least, there is the Old Man of Gugh. This three-metre-tall standing stone is considered to be related to rites from the Bronze Age.

Where to eat on St. Agnes

The Turk's Head is a family-run free house that serves excellent home-cooked cuisine and quality ales.

That’s it for my ‘Isles of Scilly’ series!
